Saturday I bought a JVC MP3/WMA CD player for my car at best buy. I took it home and spent a couple hours of my time installing it, and getting it working. I put in a MP3 CD to find out that my player don’t support it, that was the main reason why I got the player in the first place.
So I go to JVC’s website directly and comes to find out that it doesn’t have any of those features, and if I’m not mistaken that is called false advertisement.
So Monday comes around and I talk with the returns at best buy. I told them that the receiver did not have the feature that was advertised, and I would like to upgrade to a receiver with MP3 playback. I also told him that since I spent my time installing it and it not being what it said it was that they should offer me a free car installation for the time that I wasted doing the installation.
He said that they would not to that, so I asked to speak to a manager. About a 15 minute wait and she finally comes to speak to me. I told her my situation, and that they should give me a free installation. She said that is not store policy to have tech’s service for free, so then I proceeded to ask her what their policy is on false advertisement. She had no response, and just told me that they will charge me a 55 dollar fee to install the radio. So I told her that she lost my business and that I will uninstall the radio myself and get my money back, and buy a radio from someone else.
Just think if could have taken them 1 hour max to install my radio, but they are too tight to right a wrong. It is too bad, I was about to buy a new iPod from them, looks like I will buy one somewhere else. I urge you do not buy anything from best buy!
I went into Best Buy to return the item and got my money back. The guy in the store was so concerned about the way it was put in the box, he should have been more concerned about his angry customer. I will never shop there again! I bought a radio on newegg.com it should be comming soon.
